Plattenspieler Beogram 4004 brummt

First you should disassemble the DIN Male connector and check for bad solderings. If you're not successful then either there is a fault in the Turntable or more likely you don't have the correct DIN -> Phono connector that passes the Ground-connection.
EASY to check. Just get a piece of cable; can be old speaker-wire or even antenna-cable long enough to reach from the turntable to the amplifier. Remove plastic to expose copper-wire at each end.
The top-plate of the 4004 is aluminium but with clear lacqer. Still at some corner or edge you will be able to get in touch with the metal directly ...or loosen a screw at the bottom cover and put the wire under it.
At the back of the amplifier there's a Ground screw, possibly near the Phono-input jacks.
Now connect the wire between the two chassis'es and the Humm should disappear. If it does KILL your 'Hifi-Händler' but not before giving you the correct cable

I don't know everything about the Beogram 4004; I have only the manual for 4002. The 4002-model can be fitted with a CD-4 decoder and I think it's the same for 4004. IF it is fitted with the CD-4 decoder thern a LOT MORE can be causing these HUMM-problems.
