Hi All, Looking for a good turntable (REGA, Technics, etc.) in Bangalore. Any idea if any music shop in Bangalore sells brand new turntables ? The turntable has to be compatible with my existing ONKYO 575 A/V reciever. Any pointer will be highly appreciated. Regards, Sourav |

The easiest thing to do is go to your bangalore nad dealer and ask for a nad turntable. he may be able to supply. The nad is an entry level one but like its amps very good for the money. for rega you can contact soundsmiths who are distributors/dealers for India based out of bombay. They may be able to get you to a nearby rega dealer. manek. |

You can try Nova Audio of Mumbai for Project turntables. They are excellent products sonically and good value for money too. Look for their RPM or series,it comes with nice arm and Grado cartridge which can be a good starting point for "Back to analoge". I am using a RPM 9 with Sumiko BPS cartridge for sometime now. Analoge system hav improved a lot and it seems the full potential of LP's can now be enjoyed. |

I don`t think there are any dealers in Bangalore dealing with new turntables. Like Manek said you should try soundsmiths in Bombay for Rega. Speak to Vijay Mirchandani or Aditya. THE SOUNDSMITHS (Division of CCI INTERTRADE PVT. LTD.) 218, Commerce House, Nagindas Master Road, Fort, Mumbai 400 023 INDIA Phone: +91-22-56351888 Fax: +91-22-56351889 Email: dynaudio@thesoundsmiths.com Internet: ![]() |

They [Sound Smiths] sell Clearaudio & Opera now ! This is for Turntables. No more Rega. Phono Stage is Whest Audio. The Project Turntables are sold by NOVA Audio [Sushil Anand] & PLAY [ Rajiv Jain] Options to consider for Analogue - Vinyl lovers. Regards, BHAGWAN69 |

Dear Saurav, If you are looking at a turntable to go with your onkyo av receiver, then consider the Project Debut III. As ani and bhagwan mentioned, you could get in touch with sushil anand(nova audio) in bombay. cheers |

I second the Project if your budget is limited for the best value for your money. You would need a good outboard phone stage though. Forget the one in your AV Receiver. It is a laugh. The difference would be HUGE ! |

Hello Guys, This is a very old posting from Saurav. I wonder if he is still interested. Nonetheless let me add my two bits. I finally bought myself a budget table two months ago. Its the Project xpression with carbon arm. I have no complaints whatsoever and its a considerable step forward from the NAD 5120. The table is available with a cartridge prepacked for under Rs. 22000. I chose not to use the original cart and am running it with a Shure M97xe. This is a very fine cartridge. I am quite happy with both my purchases. I am also quite happy with both the dealers, Mr Anand is a most helpfull person and so are the chaps at Shure Delhi. Viren bakshi makes a solid state phono stage for about Rs.1500. It is very detailed if a little bright. It compares favouably with my Cyrus one phono stage. Purnendu |

Hi, I second Project Turntables from Nova Audio( Mr.Sushil Anand). I purchased ProJect RPM4 eight months ago and it is spinning extremely well.Excellent value for money. A caution: Don't use Unshielded cartridge like Grado because this will lead to mild/moderate hum, as the TT motor is unshielded. Shure M97XE matches very well and is officially available from Sun Infonet, Delhi.Mr.Neeraj there is a very helpful person. Long Live Vinyl... Aniruddha. |

Every Cart has a bit of hum no matter what cart you use period. I have used a fair amount of catrages in my setup VPI Scoutmaster JMW9 Tonearm (Dynavector, Lyra, Ortofon...) Right now I have the dynavector on the arm but I'm waiting for the Grado Statement Master to come in. From the people I trust in the analog domain have only good things to say about this cart also the grado has one of the BEST midrange EVER (so it seems) will let you know ones I have it installed. Regards, Satyam. |
