Hi Arj, Thanks for the reply. I will buy rest of things (AVR and DVD) after buying the speakers. Also you can suggest which AVR are better for which speakers. Thanks Vivek Mansata |

Among the list, the Wharfies are the only choice... |

Vivek, in that range you could try some of the Jamo products as well to see what fits in to your range. there has been a couple of duscussions in AVRs not too far back in this forum .. that should help you. it was finally Yamaha Vs marantz (low price+ features Vs Better sound quality) I am not very familiar with all the mentioned chices but the polk Monitor 50 would be my choice as it is i believe in a different price point than the others (?/)and is a much more sensitive and easier load on the amplifier. the other choice might be the Wharfedale diamond..i have not been a great fan of this but it seems to be pretty popular would suggest you get your AVR first and audition each speaker with that to get the best feel. The RTi series are slightly more expensive but supposed to be quite better(e.g. [1]) (can anyone else who have actually heard the difference put in a word here?).You might get a decent bookshelf in this series for this price. [1] ![]() |

I guess its pretty simple... Wharfdale Diamond 8.4 + Marantz AVR (model depending on your budget). You can also look at Mordaunt short Avant 906/904..I havent heard them but they have got some good user reviews. |

Polk monitors are only good for loud pop music to be played in parties where nobody is bothered about the fidelity of the sound...there is one RTI bookshelf (RTI4 i think) that is good vfm the rest can be passed.. having said that...polk has a typical american sound, and some may like it a lot...needs to be paired carefully... |
