Strange issue with my arcam player

My arcam cd player has developed a problem.

If I eject, the tray comes out and then it goes right back in without staying in the open position. Is there a way I can fix this myself?

Depends on what transport mechanism the arcan uses.

Usually a cleaning should solve it.

My pioneer does this a lot. There is a small spring loaded slider switch on the left of the transport mechanism which when cleaned with cleaning fluid solves it temporarily until it happens again after a while.
So you need to be quick on the draw when loading and rmoving cd's in the tray.
This is when you wish you had a top loading mechanism or just a hdd full of music :-)

When the CD drawer ejects, it activates a 'Limit Swirch' at the end of its travel....

As Manek has pointed out, the Limit Switch has turned bad... Clean or better still replace.

Probably the Limit switch as AN mentioned. Relays and Limit switches get bad over time due to arcing. Try spraying some WD40 into the limit switch and manually press a few times while doing so. Make sure you dont get any mist from the spray on the lens. Should solve the problem.

Whilst you have the cover opened,you may want to damp those open cavities with blu tac ?

Where did you buy the cdplayer from ? Probably the dealer can help you too.
