Hi, i have planned to dispose my old yamaha Amp. i need some expert opinion vis-a-vis Nad c320 Vs Cambridge audio 640A. i also want to know which of the following amp will fare well with Mission 74 floorstanding speakers. 1.Cambridge audio 640A or 540A 2. Rotel Ra-01. i have left out NAD coz procuring one here in Bangalore is difficult. But if i get one,i'll be defnitely going for Nad Also kindly enlighten me as to how much of a difference will a source(cd/dvd player) make to the final audio quality. i'm not happy with the present audio quality with the Philips 625 DVD player+Yamaha ax396 amp+ mission m74i setup. thanks in advance Kishore [Beitrag von kishore am 21. HI Kishore, On Paper all three are very good amps..Only problem is that the rotel does not come with a Remote. there are strong advocates to each of the three and with good reason..they are all good ! Only person who can help you out is yourself !..you would need to auditon all your choices with a setup most similiar to your own. make sure you listen to your range of music for at leat 30 min before deciding.. In the end the music should sound best to you also should not tire your ears ![]() cheers! |

Could'nt have put it better....ARJ is pot on again as always ! I dont like the rotel amp too much as I have heard it in Bombay and did not like it. If I had to purchase blindly then it would either be the nad 320bee or the canbridge. Since nad is not available and cambridge is for audition do a full test of it and the rotel. If possible try and listen to both amps with your speakers. Your Philips DVD is not much of an audio cd player. If you want to hear what a dedicated Cd player can do....just go to your friendly neighbourhood dealer and ask him to play a Cd of your choice on a similarly priced DVD and Cd player. The difference is so apperent ! Manek. |

Hey, Try the C350 also if you can find one.I found the c350 to be the quieter amp. Better dark spaces between instruments and very lush warm sound. The c320ee` is a bit more louder especially the first few watts. It gives the impression of being more dynamic and lively. But as you increase the volume, the c350 seems to be in better control and civilised and natural. Maybe it is the class A pre doing its job. Both are really good amps.I listen to jazz mostly, so preffered the c350. |

hi kishore one should not go by the reviews. listen to your ears, definatley cambridge audio 640a is a better choice then nad at the moment since nad have a lot of problems with there units in line of production. evreyone has , and so thus cambridge audio, if you are palnning to buy 640a (i am not talking about 540a here cause it is good for 100 sqfeet of a room, and also the price diff is not much, by the way how much are you getting it for) just see to it that it does not have a humming sound in it, cause that is the problem cambridge audio is know for. hi prithvi may i know were are you located as a dealer of cambridge audio, cause i am also looking at buying cambridge audio 640a and to pair it with cambridge audio 640c. thanks ojoi |
