Speaker cables

Are your Divas going to be biwired?

I am using Van Den Hul Teatrack( 4 lead version of CS 122) between NAD C 350 and Divas, with excellent Monster QuickLock Banana and spade connectors.Total expenditure, 2 years ago, was approx.Rs.7000/-.

In my opinion this combination works really well.

Currently i am using VDH Royal Jade with my set up.
This cable is good with solid state but with tubes it turns the sound dull.
I will be making a blind purschase so not sure which cable to go for.

Has anyone tried making DIY speaker cables. am talking of the ones using cat5 lan cables .
they are supposed to have low inductance but the capacitance is supposed to be on the higher side.
let me know if neone of u have tried it.

if the current ones are dull, are u looking for brighter cables ?
you could try the QED range..not sure if the Xtube is available there ?

Made a diy interconnect today with local parts. I got 3 wires for single run. Got them braided by my wife. Then i soldered them ..one wire to hot and two wires to ground. I left one ground wire floating at one end to reject any RFI.
As soon as i connected the interconnect my jaw dropped. Was i listening to an interconect which cost me Rs.50/- a pair. It easily beat my D102 and came close to VDH The 1st.
I have made some diy stuff before like roller ball isolation platforms, wooden isolation cones but this interconnect has a major effect till now.

What wires did u use ? Did you use TNT audio's design ?
Many people i know use DIY cables, with the network cabls (CAT5) as pointed by ben being quite popular as speaker cables !

tpically capacitance has less impact on the sound but can load the amps pretty badly.

if branded cables like Belden & glotz are available in india then they make wonderful DIY components for Cables of all sorts

First i wanted to make Jon Risch DIY interconnect with Belden 89259.
I couldn't get the same part number with their Indian distributor. They said, against order (minimum being 100 feet roll for Rs.9900/-) they can get 89259 in 8 weeks time.
I thought it will be a too big investment to try with Belden. So i opted for what was available in the local market. These cables are manufactured by Chetan cables . They are five thin wires of different colours...thought why not go for a braided interconnect as im already living in a RFI infested area.
Though the interconnects i made are teminated with cheapest MX RCA's.
Soon i will make one (maybe this weekend) with gold plated RCA's.

Try a power chord as per TNT as well..i heard they are pretty good.
