Hi Guys! I finally seem to have settled for a Floorstander. Can anybody help me out with the Cables for the floorstanders and interconnect for the DVD player and the A/V Receiver. Would be very glad if somebody can actually specify the model nbr and approx price and which place in Mumbai could I get the best bargain. Have heard that Monster cables are one of the best. Should I go for a 14 gauge or 12 gauge cable. Looking out for cables which are not very expensive, but balanced between performance and price. Regards, ASR |

They certainly aren't "the best" Ajit. There's a lot better you'll get for the price. BTW what's the system you finally decided on? If I'm not mistaken, you were debating between the Cantons and the Dali Blue. And which receiver? |

Dear ASR, Hi ! Could you be so kind so as to specify your set up ? The cable that would suit your needs depends a lot on what equimpent is used ? Also a suggestion [for the cables] should be in in relation to the price of your gear. 10 % to 15 % of your set [value] up is what you should spend on your 'cables' [simple thumb rule]. So tell me what you use & I will come up with some options. Thanks, BHAGWAN69 |

http://www.dealtime.com/xPO-Yamaha_RX_V450 International Retail price of the Yamaha RX-V450 is about US $'s 225/- to US $'s 250/- [link is attached above] The Indian Price should be in the 20K price bracket - give or take a few K. http://www.hifisuppliers.co.uk/website/loudspeakers/mission-m31i.htm This is the link for the retail price of the Mission - 100 Pounds. Hence the Indian Price should be in the 10 to 12 K retail range. Cable Options :- Considering the cost of the products that you are using - 10 % to 15 % of it, could be spend on cables. Now, if we take the entire package into account [AV Receiver + Speakers] you may have spend 40K to 50K on it. Hence, you could spend about 5K to 7K on your cables. Options :- vdH - Snow Track - Snow Line Monster DAC [Designer Audio Cables] Ecosse Kimber However, in all these cable options - you will have to look at the entry level products from each brand. Actually you do not need to spend much more. The difference will not be audible. Go to your dealer [in the city where your are]. Take the cables on loan from him. Try them out. Buy the one that suits you best - matches with your set up. Regards, BHAGWAN69 |

hey ASR...... for the best VFM check out the MX branded OFC cables and interconnect......this is an indian company......do give a look at them before deciding on overly hyped branded cables.....at the end whta do u need in a cable?-copper.....u ll find it a very good price here in india.....these branded cables are costly as they are not made in india and they have to go thru all customs and taxes,etc,etc.......thats the reason there is a hefty price here for the branded which are imported from abroad......as these kind of quality are manufactured locally in india, why wud our government encourage foreign brands to enter and destroy the domestic market here.......why do u think the prices of computers and computer spares, here in india, are almost at par with the abroad market prices? as there are no companies manufacturing computer spares here, simple logic ![]() so the prices are higher here..... just give it a look before u make any decision....... edges |

Hi Shahrukh, I've gone for the Dali Blue 6006. I had almost bought the Cantons 190 LE. But a last minute revision took place. I've also decided for the cables. They are Monster Cables. For Speakers they would be:Mc500 – 12 gauge(400/- per meter). and for interconnects: Interlink® Datalink™ 100 Low-Loss S/PDIF Style Digital Coaxial Cable(2900/-). These prices are Tax inclusive. My only hunt is whether I would be able to buy these cables from the Black Market. Do let me know if you have any links on the same. ASR |

No ASR, dunno much about the black market. As far as I know Monster is sold mostly thru the white channels here in India (don't think we even need a black market). If you like the monsters then good on u mate. Enjoy your system. [Beitrag von Shahrukh am 14. Okt 2005, 07:50 bearbeitet] |
