Hello everybody, I'm looking for a turntable and arm under the 5000 US $ .N ew or 2nd hand it does not matter, but it must be a recent product ( i.e. no vintage !) Which one would you recommend ? And why ? I'm thinking about brands like VPI, Michell, Bluenote .... The cartridge is a Koetsu Urushi. Thanks, Koetsu |

Well I'm toying with the idea of getting a VPI TNT6 8K retail but if you play hard it can surely be had for 5K or less, I'm looking at getting a Hovland HP200 phono too. The reason I'm considering the VPI besides the RAVE reviews all around are, Its one of the easiest tables to setup and that’s very very important for me as this would be my first table. The second reason is I'm looking to buy it from the US so voltage is going to be a major issue and the VPI has the SDS which would work perfectly on 220/240V 60Hz, as one cant get away with a step-down transformer with a turntable. I'll be listening to this setup in early august and would finally decide to pull the trigger then. Do keep me updated about your developments. Regards, Satyam. [Beitrag von sbfx am 27. Hello Satyam, thanks a lot for your post. Indeed, I've been considering vpi for the same reasons you mentioned. I might be able to buy it directly in the US and it can be easily adapted to 220V. Also the reviews of all the vpi turntables are great! The only problem with the TNT 6 is that my budget is still a bit short for it .... About the phono stage I was thinking about some Audio Research PH3 or PH5, Tom Evans Microgroove + or something similar. I'll keep you updated .... Regards, Koetsu |
