Hi there, I am in the process of putting together a new system which looks something like this:Source- Rotel RCD2, Amplification-Roksan Kandy MK III,Power Amp- Arcam 290 P, Speakers - Linn Keliedhs. The power amp and speakers are a throwback from my old system. I have been thinking of getting a new pair of speakers for a while, and have been contemplating the Cadence Avitas. -Any opinions/options?will they match the rest of my gear. -Also has anyone on this forum had experience with bi- amping these hybrids? how do they sound. Cheers Krishnan ![]() |

Hi krishnan, the avita's are a delightfull speaker. My favourite in the entire cadence range and currently my all time favourite speaker for the price. Am saving up for it as well. I've heard them played with many combos of amplification(SS, tube, hybrid) and bi-wired and till date they have never disappointed me. I am convinced that is the speaker for me for my next upgrade. heard them with roksan kandy integrated, arcam integrated and arcam avr and they indeed are a good match. My friend bi-wires the avitas and they sound superb. Cadence also recommend the arcam equipment for their speakers. Manek. |

yup will second that. have heard only divas and aritas so far but judging by their sound, the higher avitas should be leagues ahead. lovely indian products. find very few indian made products that can thrash almost any brand. |

stevie, cadence its probably is the only indian product "that can thrash almost any brand" as you put it. I dont really see any other on the horizon yet in that class. manek. |

The market is now ripe for local players to jump in. How I wish there were others in the Indian industry who could take the battle to cadence and the overseas brands. That would only translate into better(maybe cheaper) speakers made by local manufacturers for both the local and overseas markets. Labour is relatively cheaper, we have the brains, we just need to put the resources/logistics together, easier said than done actually. ![]() Or bettr still, India could be the perfect outsourcing destination for speaker manufacture. There is already a beginning in this field. Peerless India in Bombay does a lot of manufacturing of speakers for many overseas brands. They also make their own drivers, thats their core competency. Manek. |

Hi! Krish, If you had LINNs before then you can still go in for the new models, depends on how much you want to invest. You can try the KATAN or the NINKA from LINN, the are in a different league. Rgds Prithvi |

Prithvi, I had the opportunity to audition the Ninkas, which have replaced the Keleidhs, in a Linn showroom in Glasgow, a few months back.I'm afraid I was not very impressed.I thought that my Keleidhs sound better. I listen to a wide variety of music ranging from Ahmad Jamal to Nitin Sawhney and everything in between. I am perhaps looking for that mythical speaker that will do justice to this wide gamut . I prefer a sound that is detailed but not clinical. Any thoughts ? Cheers Krishnan |

Hi! Krish, The KANDY is a great amp, got good reviews too. Have you tried the ESPEKs from Linn? Try some ProAc Studio 125s etc, or the Dynaudio 82s, Cadence Avita's. I was cadence's dealer for 14 years in Bangalore but have stopped recently. You will have to wait for their showroom to come up( happening since Feb last year).:cut Rgds Prithvi |

Hi! Krish, If you are looking at detailed sound then pick a ProAc Studio 125. The Dynaudio, Linns etc are all too clean and very clinical, as mentioned before they are not bad speakers but personally prefer some warmth/body/life to the music. Which the proAcs have. It all depends also on what type of music you listen to and what levels. Rgds Prithvi |
