Audio Quality with 220-110 V stepdown transformer..+A -A |

Does the quality of the audio of an Integrated Amp suffer's, if put through a 220-110 Step down transformer,for a 110V Amp bought in USA? Or it's best to get it modified to 220V input at the manufacturer, at an additional cost? Thanks. |

hmmm.....I think this has been discussed before on this forum and the general consensus was to get the mods done by manufacturer for best results.....or to get a super duper voltage convertor which an deliver the goods which would turn out to be very expensive. Manek |

The mod maybe a simple one depending on the manufacturer - it might be as easy as a simple rewiring of the transformer terminals inside the equipment using a screw driver, as transformers usually support both 110V and 220V. If this is the case it could be done by somebody with basic familiarity in electronics/electricals, without risk. Worth taking a look inside first, so you can save $$! |
