Hi Folks, I am back again.. I have bought this receiver in US back in 2001, now I am back in India. Is it possible to switch it from 110 Volts to 220 Volts (I believe they are switched to 110 volts in US) or I need to use Step down transformer. Has any one in this forum faced similar issues? Would really appreciate if some one can help me out with this problem. Regards [Beitrag von khanmadari am 13. Dez 2005, 07:18 bearbeitet] |

You need a step down, if there's no universal voltage switch on the back. Usually a label on the back of electronic mains-operated equipment specifies the operating voltage. Voltage selection, if available, is also available from somewhere on the back panel, sometimes near the mains entry point. Some manufacturers will hide the voltage selection inside the uits, then a technician will be able to switch the voltages for you. To simplify inventory manufacturers normally get dual winding transformers made and create PCBs that can switch the voltages by soldering/removing a few jumpers on the board. A Yamaha Tech should be able to help you better, if you want hassle-free operation a step down is not a bad investment. And yes, I have faced this first hand. Not a pretty or cheap result. |
