Help finding best speakers within my price range

I am new to this all... I can't afford to buy $2,000 speakers like some of the posts I've seen on here. But I do know you guys would know a bit about audio.

I'm trying to fix up my car's system. 4" speakers fit in front, and 6.5" in the back. I initially bought some Pioneer TS-G1640R's (2-way) for the back... They sucked. They were very harsh on the ear in the 2k-8k area, must've had some frequency spikes there. I took them back and got some Pioneer TS-A630P's (3-way)... Which were audibly much better, but still had a spike and irritating noise around the 2k-3k area.

For the front I bought Rockford Fosgate FRC4204... They're great, no scratchy harshness that I can tell. But they're not too powerful as far as turning the volume up.

I just ordered a Rockford Fosgate 700W Punch Amp... And will get a subwoofer soon.

As far as the harshness goes, what should I do? will 2-way rockford's be better than 3-way pioneers? I'm interested in flat frequency responses. Thanks.

see what you require is audiophile quality speakers which give very very smooth and soft as well as soft n crispy treble which is possible only through good speakers not from pioneer or sony or anyother stuff..

I ve got one of my customer who loves my speakers.. he got pioneer but he was not satisfied with its harshness..so he ordered my speakers...
