same question, other drink.
Now it's whisky! What are your faves?

Mine are Laphroiag 10, Ardbeg 10

I like(d) Port Ellen very much, but they are closed.
So I'll have to drink something else.
Maybe it's time for another cap of Laphroiag 30??

Lagavulin (including sherry editions!)

Which Lagavulin and Laphroaig whiskys do you like most?

My choices are: Lagavulin 16 or Ximinez edition and Laphroaig 30

i dislike vodka. but i love american whisky! whats wrong with that opinion? russian caviar is great too!

Of course it has to be a single malt as the others are just pretending to be good! Therefore I go for Highland Park

Normaly I prefer single malt from islay - what else?

In fact I have had some fine Whiskies from Cadenheads (single cask, no chill filtered, no additional indrigiens) and I was very suprised. The name of some of these whiskies do not raise any expectations, but indeed they exceed it.

What a subject!

Over the last few years, I have developed s strong liking for island malts. Among those, I particularly enjoy those from the Hebrides, and again among those, I clearly like those from Islay -- next to the unavoidable Talisker from Skye. There are of course the "usual suspects," like Bowmore, Glendronach, Ardbeg and Laphroaig. The last one, in particular, has a distincive taste of peat and a trace of seaweed in its finish. Some time ago, I discovered Caol Ila Distillery, an un-chillfiltered, uncolored, 12-year-old. I doesn't taste as "strong" as Laphroaig but has a very interesting and delicate finish. And don't forget the nose. Highland Park (Orkneys) tastes a bit too "mainlandish" to me -- which is not to say it isn't a good whisky.

So many whiskies to choose from. I haven't tasted much mainland whisky recently, but the ones I did have were quite pleasant, too -- Glenrothes and Macallan. And, on occasion, even a Glenfiddich Solera Reserve isn't too bad.
