Hi all,
Finally got to hear the album...good one for die hard MK fans.

For other music lovers just get the lyrics and sing along with songs from Shangrilla and All the road running

Well recorded and produced album. Delicate guitar riffs, his playing is getting short but with more emotion. As usual each song portrays a character which he has been doing well since Golden Heart.

Richard Bennet's guitar is missing in the rhythm section and the delicate touches he contributes.

Two versions are available here in India. The CD Rs395 and the CD+DVD Rs. 495. Rhythm House.Mumbai

I missed the CD+DVD of Shangrila, because I bought early ... when only the CD was available.

All said and done, Shangri-La is a beautiful album! I like each and every track in that disc!

Didn't care too much for "All the roadrunning" so not sure how Crimson will be!

Of the other 2 albums you mentioned, the one he sung with Harris is very very bad. The other one is nice.

Which album are you talking about?

I prefer Shangrilla recording (even though bass gets a bit thick) over that of Kill to get Crimson. Kill to get crimson was recorded at MK's own studio with a lot of classic vintage tube mixing desks.

They have taken an analogue tape take and the same is said to be used for producing the Vinyl Lp's. Will try and get a copy of them and see how they sound.

Except for the Guitar tone I am not that moved, but being a fan will go for it

Ragpicker's Dream - Good
All the Roadrunning - Poor

Recording :-

S - Poor
R - Good
A - Average

[same order as above]

Kill for C, I have not fot as yet. All copies were Indian Pressings. Hence, I am waitng for the new set to arrive. Shall buy it then.

Agree! I thought the recording was way below par on the Roadrunning CD too. Even the content was boring, except for "This is us". Probably heard that album 4 times tops. It's collecting dust at my place.

A lot of tube equipment at Shangri La studios too, I'm told.

(Wonder if they decided on the studio first or the name/content of the album...

I think by Dec EU pressings should be available here in India. The CD is not worth ( as an audiophile recording ) getting from Amazon. f you are a fan of MK, it is a good pop music recording.

I dont know if any one of you have noticed about Bob Ludwig mastered CDs they all have Bass guitar mixed bit thick. Noticed this right from Willie Nelson, MK -Shangrilla, Bonnie Raitt (Souls alike), Eric Clapton and Bruce springsteen .

Would like to hear experience of forum members. Thanking you in advance
