75 ohm terminator on digital out of cdp/dvd player

I tried this on my dvd player. It plays ! :-) no fireworks yet !

Is it as great a tweak as they make it out to be ? No ! Does it make a difference ? A small one when listening to acoustic guitar and metal percussion instruments like triangles and high hats, maybe I need to wait until this resistor burns in :-) ha ha.

Is it a safe tweak ? I don't know, time will tell if my digital out burns out or not :-) seriously, I have checked with a couple of people who make equipment, they didn't think it would screw up anything if the line was terminated with 75ohms resistor.

Will it work for everyone ? I don't know, mileage will vary.

Rca ? MX nickel plated. My audiophile ego didn't let me use the el cheapo one with the plastic cover :-)

Resistor ? Metal film 1% tolerance costing a princely sum of 1 Re. And it measures 75.5 ohms on the meter with the rca soldered.

So any of you bravehearts willing to try this trick and tell me if it does anything for you ?

Like a lot of things in audio, mods are subjective in nature.

Then the English language comes into play. In the first gush of hearing something different, a "huge" change is discovered! Superlatives excell - "a sea change", "extraordinary", "awesome", "revolutionary". When something really significant comes along, like music, no words are left to express it!

My CD player has a Balance Digital out, and I use a El Cheapo Balanced cionnector, with resistors, in place.

No significant sound diff to my ears... dont think it would stand up to a blind test....

However I have left it in place... so that the Balnced Female receptable on the CD player does not corrode ! ( I live clse to the sea...

ROTFLMAO!!

if you had posted your feedback on AA or A'gon after listening with the 75 Ohms termination you would have been EXPECTED to use (1) or (2) or BOTH otherwise your reputation would have been severely suspected!
