its a class D digital AMP, works on a different concept and needs at least 92db/8 Ohms speakers
It is out of stock ..but required around $100 worth of modding.

It is abit overhyped..but conceptually very strong and supposed to be a very strong competitor to $250-$500 amps.

the Flying Mole amp , also based on ClassD, but costing $900 is apparentlyn the real Giant Killer...

Guys,
have any of you auditioned class D amps ?

What are your views ? Will definitely drive down costs for sure.

i have a class d monoblock subwoofer amp in my car(freq resp 10-200hz).
its great for bass.sound quality though is less compared to the conventional amplifier classes.
don't know for home audio and for full range.

most subs come with class d amps if I am not mistaken.

Jeff rowland maked class D monoblocks now. Again I think they were the ones playing at the AV max B&W HT demo room. if they were, they sounded darn good for HT.

bel canto and PS audio makes them as well i think...and so do a few other nanufactuers for stereo and monoblock applications.

many subs did have class D..it is only now that these (Also called Digital ampes) are coming into stereo as well due to some new chipsets which have been made (By Tripath etc..)

But am sure , as in LP, tubes etc, the old ClassA AB amps will always hold their own niche !

many high end manufacturers are also getting into this ClassD businesss
