Amp and cd player

Hi everyone,
Im looking for an amp and cd player to go with my Monitor Audio Silver 5's. Are they any systems that will work well with these speakers? Im looking to get the best overall performance from them. Thanks

looking for an amp is no easy job.mainly depends on the type of music you prefer to listen to....and how you want to listen....

Before I can help you, you need to let me know the following:
1. The spk specs?
2. Your room size?
3. The type of music you listen to?
4. How soft or how loud?
5. How much do you want to spend on the Amp & CDP.

Do let me know the above and then we can take it from there.

Sorry lads completely forgot to mention all that. Thanks for your replies

1.Specs for the reflex, rear-firing port design are an 89dB sensitivity, 100 watt power handling, six ohm impedance and 38Hz-25kHz frequency response.

2.16 x 11 feet.

3.Wide variety, mainly rock.

4.Dont understand what you mean mate....

5.I was hoping not to go over a Grand(£)but id like to get the best from these.

Kel,

I assume you are in UK, getting a suitable amp and CD for MA siler S5 within UKP 1000 will be a bit tight.

You can try Primaluna Prologue One or Two tube amps or go in for a solid state from Arcam range. UKP 700 - 1000 Arcam Diva A80 is one SS amp

Arcam CD 192 is an excellent CD player but you will be doubling your budget. Their CD 82 is also worth trying and you will be within your target.
